School Library Marks New Chapter for Kitto
Bristol construction specialists Kitto have extended and refurbished the library at Clifton College Preparatory School to create a stunning new facility for students.
The Kitto team responsible for the design and construction has completely transformed and created space in the roof area, providing a new second and a separate teaching area and IT suite linked to the library with a spiral staircase and glazed gallery.
Work on the £200,000 project began in July and was completed on schedule in mid-October.
Graham Rowe, Managing Director of the Kitto Group, said: “This was a challenging project which has transformed the library, making the best use of the space available in this historic building.
“It is always a privilege to work with great Bristol institutions like Clifton College and to be involved in something which will contribute to the school’s continuing success.”
Dr Bob Acheson Headmaster of Clifton College Preparatory School said: “We were short of space in the library but we now have a calm, attractive and user-friendly environment where the pupils can read, study and use the improved IT facilities. Everyone is delighted with the result.”
